Enoch Ornament Instructions

2. MATERIALS:

Unfinished Wooden Pumpkin Ornament
Felt (Orange, Dark Yellow, Olive, Dark Green)
Cardstock (Black, Yellow, Orange)
Floral Wire
String (Green)
Paint (Terra Cotta, Black, 2 Types of Orange)
Mod Podge
Enoch Template

Tools:
Scissors
Circular hole punches (1.59cm, 1.91cm)
Paint Brushes
Q-Tips
Markers
Hot glue gun (low temperature)

3. Prepare Our Pieces

Cut out our Template
Punch out circles for the eyes
Trace the template into the backside of the felt
Cut out felt pieces ( Cut strips out of the Olive and Dark Yellow felt to create a ‘ribbon’ effect)
Trim floral wire (Enoch’s arms. You’ll only need 1). Mine is approx. 1cm x 14cm.
Cut string. Mine is approx. 18cm.

4. Paint Enoch’s Head

You can prime with gesso or mod podge before painting.
I am just painting directly onto the wood. I will seal with mod podge at the end.

Paint the Base, Strips, Stitch detail+lines, teeth

5. Assemble him!

Face
Mod Podge/Glue his eyes and mouth

Arms
Wrap the green felt around the wire. Position the felt against the wire. Starting on one end, apply a small dab of hot glue onto the wire. Pinch the felt around the wire for a few seconds.
Begin wrapping the felt at an angle, applying small dabs of glue as you go. You can trim any visible glue at the end.
Finish off the same way you started. You may need to trim some of the wire.

Body
Roll the dark green base until it’s the size/shape of a finger puppet. Hot glue the seams together.
Use the same technique for the Dark Yellow piece, and then the Olive piece.

Position the arms at the top of his body, making sure both sides are even.
Apply a medium amount of hot glue to the arm’s “front”, and then press it into enoch’s upper back.

Hot glue Enoch’s head to his body. Apply a medium amount of hot glue to Enoch’s “neck”/top part of his body and then press the head into the glue, holding for a few seconds.
Use the orange piece of felt as backing for Enoch’s head+neck. This is to hide any visible hot glue.

6. Almost done!

Loop the green thread through the ornament and tie it off with a double knot

Optional: seal Enoch’s face with a clear sealer of your choice. I use Matte Mod Podge.
